A-Shell installation files and programs are available in three versions, listed at right. You may download any of the files found here, whether for the purpose of evaluating the software or for updating.

The developer version, A-Shell 5.1, includes up-to-the-minute changes, has not been comprehensively tested, and is intended only for developers and programmers. You can get it here.

Documentation for the two non-current versions of A-Shell can be found on the A-Shell 5.0 and A-Shell 4.8 pages. Current documentation on A-Shell and all associated products, add-ons and and software modules can be found on the documentation page.

The stable or retail version, A-Shell 5.0 , is recommended for all production environments and evalations. You should download this version unless you have an explicit reason for wanting to use one of the other versions.

A-Shell's standard include files, which are file types .def (symbol definitions), .sdf (structured definitions), .map (mapped variables), and .bsi (includes with code) are continually evolving but are generally forward and backward compatible. They may be found on the ASHINC page. Note that these files are included in the A-Shell release packages, and need be separately downloaded only if you are trying to stay up to the minute with the latest versions.

The historical version, A-Shell 4.8 , continues to be available to existing customers—and is ONLY for existing customers. This software was originally released in November 2003, is no longer being distributed or supported, and explicitly does not provide support for Microsoft Vista.

ATE documentation and installation files are available from the
A-Shell 5.0 page.
